THE WORLD OF HUNDERTWASSER of companhia VA DA BORDO
is an all-purpose theater circus spectacle, inspired by the life and work of Austrian painter, architect and environmental activist Hundertwasser, and its relationship with art, architecture and ecology.
The spectacle tells the story of Branca, a technological girl who does not know how to use colors and only relates to modern gadgets, until her routine is changed when an artist comes up, inviting her to look at the world through screens and live windows .
Directed by Alvaro Assad and created/performed by
Raul Barretto and Helena Cerello, the spectacle debuted in São Paulo at SESC Consolação with a great return of critics and audience. "The World of Hundterwasser" was also nominated for the APCA, for the Critics Grand Prize category for bringing the work of the artist Friedenreich Hundertwasser to the theater. It was also recognized by Aplauso Brasil in the category 'Best spectacle for teenagers and children’.
Hundertwasser
(1928-2000) was a painter, graphic artist, poet, architect and environmental activist who was born in Vienna, Austria. He traveled across many countries painting and imagining a visionary worldview where man and art could be integrated with nature.
Hundertwasser said, "Man should give back to nature all he got from it," so to build a house in the elders days, trees were cut, the least man could do would be to replant them, in the ground or even in those green gardens on the rooftops. Planting tenants trees into your house/garden is always an option.
In his works, the artist valued the organic shapes and spirals, because he had aversion to the straight line, because of its monotony. In addition, one of its main theories is the "Five Skins", which would be: the first skin, our own skin; the second skin, our clothes; the third skin, our home; the fourth skin, our social environment, our city; and the fifth skin, our planet.
In this context, every man should have the right to have his skin respected for its color and its history; the right to dress according to his will; the right to have their own window; the right to interfere with creativity in the city; and to live in a world where nature and beauty are preserved.
